A guy in the UK is offering Code 3 Police models in various scales. He is mainly doing those colorful Police cars from the UK. All the scale models are made in very small numbers. But he is also offering one-offs of a specific model if you desire one like that. He uses self made printed decals as well as correct detail parts from several small suppliers like 2D Models. All his models are offered under the label T.O.T. Models. I will try to present you here all the Volvo models he has done so far in 1:43 and 1:18 scale. 1:43 models : 1:18 models :

Quote from a 1978 Volvo catalog : A standard taxi was too small and a bus would have been too expensive. AHC has provided several Volvo 850 scale models to Volvo for their official merchandising department. The models were the same then the ones offered directly by AHC but they featured a special decorated blue box wearing the Volvo lettering. A former Volvo employee from France send me these photos of this Volvo 854 GLT from 1992. It is painted a light blue metallic. This paint scheme was missing so far in my database. Only a black and a white version was mentioned so far in the database. Please let me know if you have eventually a different color in your collection. The miniature which has been made in Spain has AHC's item # 486 marked on the bottom plate. Volvo's official part number was however # 280958.
This Volvo Amazon by Minichamps was apparently given to Volvo salesmen in Germany who attempted a training meeting for Volvo car insurances. Only 750 units of this 1:43 scale model were produced and labeled for the event. The color is graphite metallic combined with a red interior. This 4-door Amazon was also released as a regular model in 2009 by Minichamps under item number 430171061.
This Volvo S80 obviously used for a crash test is a one off model. It was modeled based on existing photos and videos. A 1:43 scale model from Cararama was used to create this unique and unusual model. Only one car has been produced by a Polish modeler. The car was sold to a Dutch Volvo fan. Personal note : I'm aware that this a one off model but I think it is worse to be presented.
I presented yesterday the various Volvo C70 versions which Bburago has released so far. Bburago has produced the Volvo XC90 in several versions with even more tiny differences. Most of these variations are only visible after having a really close look at these 1:43 scale models. The photos will give a short overview of the models and their details. The regular models have also been available in two different window boxes. The first being the standard Bburago box and the second is a promotional box for Volvo. Th Russian company GM-Art has produced between 2004 and 2006 several Volvo scale models. These modified 1:43 scale cars were all built by using the following Minchamps models : Volvo 244, 854, S40, S80, S60 et S60R. The main part of GM-Art's product line are however cars by Mercedes and even more 4x4 models of that company. The following two Volvo models were offered on GM-Art's website : Volvo S80 This Volvo is ( was ? ) used in Moscow as a VIP Taxi. The taxi company has also BMW series 7 and Audi A8 cars with similar extreme skirts and fenders on their roster. Volvo S40 Only 7 units of each have been produced and their price tag was 200 € each. All are sold out. The owner of GM-Art has also built the following Volvo models. As far as I was able to find out, they are one-offs for his personal collection. Volvo 240 GL Police Omsk ( RUS ) This one was created back in 2007. Here you can find more infos about Omsk and a map. Here are another six Russian Police models. I do not have more infos about these scale models.
The British company R.P.M. Models has released back in 1998 a rather well detailed 1:43 Volvo 855 T5 resin kit.The model was available as normal road car but also in several Police versions for the UK. I have already presented the road version here. The following photos will show you the 'Sussex Police' version. A lot of fine cast metal, white metal, photo-etched parts and details are included within this resin kit. There is no noticeable flash on the resin body and the various detail parts. Excellent clear and crisp decals are supplied for this right-hand drive Police car model. The instructions are rather basic, but then then it's not the most complex kit and it should all make sense. But a few photos of the real car will be very helpful to apply the details and decals to the correct places. Unfortunately I can't show you a finished model. I have never seen one so far.
