Here is a prototype of a Volvo 265 which Siku probably developed between 1975 and 1979. It is unclear why the scale model never saw production. It is probable that it ended with a few other prototypes in the hands of a former Siku worker. They were offered for sale several years ago and the person behind oldtoycars.de was able to buy them.

I also wondered why there never was a Volvo, a bit too un-German perhaps..

Yes, I've seen those, now it would have been a best seller if they did a 140 series with the earlier black wheels, in the obvious green like the DS or Fiat, and the 2000GT I have..! If I see what prices are asked for the Majorette, Corgi and MB 245's..!

As a Siku collector, it's very interesting to see a Siku pre-production resin. It just seems they are much less common than Matchbox pre-productions.

I don't know if pre-production models from Siku are more or less common than those from Matchbox.
