Solido who is celebrating his 80th anniversary this year has released a 2007 Volvo C30 in 1:43 scale. The blue metallic model has a black interior. The Volvo is offered for ±20 € under the item # 421433270. A property of the Solido scale model are the half open door windows. No other company offers this on the Volvo C30 model. I made however a big mistake when I posted the news on 03/19/2012. I wrote that it was the first release after Solido had announced this model back in 2007. This is not correct. Bert Jan, a longtime Volvo collector, pointed out to me that Solido released a first run of that model back in 2008. The model hat the same item number and the only difference between both models is that the first run was entirely blue whereas the second and new run has also the same blue metallic paint but comes with a dark blue body-kit. Volvo C30 by Solido - second run in 2012 The photo on your right shows the model as it was presented on the toy fair in Nürnberg back in 2007.  
Volvo C30 by Solido - first run in 2008 Solido already released a Volvo C30 in metallic blue under the same item number in 2008. The difference between this model and the new 2012 run is that the second has a dark blue body-kit.

A picture of the 1:43 Volvo 242 Turbo - Team IPS Racing - DTM Champion 1985 has again appeared on Minichamps website. Could it be possible that it will finally be released this year ? Both models have already been shown last year on the Minichamps booth. More Volvo scale models already announced by Minichamps and waiting to be delivered : The sixth model in the VOLVO Collection by Editions Atlas is a red Volvo 144 Automatic from 1971. Ixo has already produced several Volvo 144 models in the past and they all had rear-view mirrors on the front side doors. This release however does not have side mirrors. As I wrote earlier this week the Volvo Collection has appeared on the Belgium website from Editions Atlas but the page did not work back then.
Since yesterday the website is also available and working properly. Unfortunately the collection still can't be ordered on the French spoken website. What a shame. The Danish company Skandinavisk Modeltrafik has launched last year a collection named Nordic Collection. This collection is featuring so far various Saab and Volvo models. Skandinavisk Modeltrafik is known for offering special releases limited to the Scandinavian countries. Later the tooling will be changed and the P210 Duett will be produced in different versions.
Editions Atlas has just announced the release of their Volvo Collection in the Netherlands. This is partly due to numerous request by members from the Dutch website Volvo-Forum.nl The presentation of the collection appears also on the Dutch spoken website in Belgium but the page is not working so far. But nothing appears on the French spoken website in Belgium. ( please see the links at the end of this post ) The first model is a black Volvo PV444 from 1945. The 1:43 scale model is offered for 3.90 € Future releases will cost 19 € + 2.95 € for S&H The set includes : - the car mounted on a base - a booklet - a DVD - a poster The Volvo Collection has already been offered in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.    
The all new Volvo V40 which has only been presented as World Première in Geneva on March 6th is now available as 1:43 scale model. The new V40 will replace the previous S40 and V50 in Volvo's model line-up. Motorart is offering the new V40 scale model in blue metallic and white metallic. The official price tag is 37.70 €.
