BoS-Models has released today the Volvo P1900 Sport. The 1:18 scale model is limited to 750 pieces. It is a resin model with no moving or opening parts. BoS-Models has decided to offer us the model painted yellow and in combination with a red interior. The scale model is now available under item # 193563. The official retail price is 99.95 €. You can buy it exclusively at ModelCarWorld's web-shop. The shortcut BoS stands for 'Best of Show'. The French company OttOmobile has helped developing some of the models for BoS-Models.  Neo scale Models has published the first photo of the upcoming Volvo Amazon Coune Convertible. The first release of this newly tooled model will be available in gray. The interior will be red together with a red top in the open position. This model will be made out of resin and will be available as 1:43 scale model. You can already pre-order your model under item number NEO45210. The official retail price will probably be 59.90 €. I guess that this new Volvo model will be available in the coming couple of weeks.
I'm sure other color versions will follow at a later date. A blue painted model has already been announced as limited edition for the German webshop Model Car World. It will be a limited run of only 300 pieces. You can reserve your model under item # 185703. Neo scale Models has also shown a closed version at last years Toy Fair in Nürnberg.  Volvo has revealed the first photos of their third Concept car on February 26, 2014. The first scale models of this really great Volvo concept car were released at this years Geneva Motor Show. The first of the 1000 units were available at Volvo's booth as early as March 4, 2014. Volvo's merchandising department is selling the 1:43 scale model for only 111 € at their stand in Geneva.
But you don't need to drive to Geneva. You can order it also in Volvo's official web-shop under item number 2300381-000-00. The regular retail price is 126.40 €. You can also check your local Volvo dealer. It might be that he can order you a copy. This resin model is made by Norev and comes in a VIP gift box. It is in my eyes one of the best Volvo scale models ever. You won't get disappointed. Just have a look at the photos I took of my model. A diecast version of this Volvo Concept Estate model will arrive at a later date. The number forty in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas is a Volvo 145 Express Taxi. It was produced from 1970 to 1972. I'm sure that it might not be too difficult to guess why this type of Volvo may have been very popular in Scandinavia for transporting children from and to schools. The scale model is painted in the typically yellow paint used for Taxis. The official code for this paint is 62. It is simply called 'Taxi yellow'.
