Volvo's merchandising department offers the all-new Volvo XC90 now also on their website as 1:18 model. The large scale model of Volvo's big SUV has so far only been available at some Chinese resellers on the net. So it seems to have paid off for those who had more patience and who did not order this scale model when it was released for the first time last year. Volvo offers the smaller version of their XC90 so far only in black in combination with a two-tone beige/brown interior. The diecast model features four opening passenger doors and hood. The scale model is also very detailed. Just have a look at the various stickers in the engine bay. You can get your copy for €138.70 incl tax under item number 2310041-100-000. CSM has released so far two other Volvo scale models in 1:18: Volvo XC60 and S60L These models have so far only been made for the Chinese market.

Volvo's merchandising department has announced that they will offer two new models. These models are an minimalist as well as elegant interpretation of Volvo's actual design language. Both models will be made by Playsam. The design of both models is by Drop Innovation, a design company based in Barcelona, Spain. Volvo's merchandising department seems to offer both models only in black. But Playsam will offer both models also in red as well as in white. Volvo will offer each model for €62.70 incl tax. Playsam has not yet revealed their sale tag. Volvo and Playsam also give slightly different lengths for each model. I will try to find out who is right and who isn't.

Oxford Diecast has released the 1:43 scale Volvo Amazon which has been announced last year. The first release of the 4-door Amazon is painted light green and features a green interior. The model is available for £ 22.95 (± € 29.50) under item number VA001.
Many will say: why another Volvo Amazon? Is there not yet enough choice on the market? Well not if you're looking for a RHD (right hand drive) version. And this is where the British company Oxford Diecast steps in. Volvo sold their Amazon model in many countries where right hand drive is/was a standard. And correct scale models for RHD models are not that common. There are still a few tiny things which I think are wort mentioning:

Editions Atlas choose to add a model of the Volvo 244GTX and the Volvo PV51 Cabriolet to the Volvo Collection. The photos do show prototypes of both models which are not yet ready and which will be improved before the final production run will be launched. The Volvo 240 GTX was not a normal or even special trim line. GTX was simply the name of a sporty parts package which was offered by Volvo dealers throughout Scandinavia. The Volvo PV51 Convertible by Nordberg is a rather rare example of a prewar Volvo. A really niece one has been sold last year (19 Oct 2015) by Göteborgs Auktionsverk AB. The hammer price was 74,398 EUR (auction catalog). The main reason is the reorganization of Editions Atlas which started last year. Their internal reorganization is still an ongoing progress but should be effective anytime soon. This led to some trouble in the shipping department hence all those back orders. But it should turn back to normal later this summer. The number sixty-one in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas is the Volvo 760 GLE. This model of the 760 comes in the rarer but still attractive paint scheme called green metallic/silver green metallic (code 178). The photos shows a pre-production model.
