Norev has recently released a batch of new 1:43 scale Volvo models representing cars with the 2014 face-lift. Norev will offer besides the already presented official models for Volvo a few new paint schemes. They are :
The Volvo XC60 will apparently be advertised as a special 'Desperate Housewives' edition. Susan Delfino who is played by Teri Hatcher is driving a 2009 Volvo XC60 in Flamenco red in the well known TV soap named 'Desperate Housewives' ( 2004-2012 ). Susan drove of course the older XC60 version so it will be of course a 'fake' special edition. Norev will release more models and colors later this year. They are not yet allowed to announce further details about those news.

The Dutch company Laika Vintage Scale Cars has just finished producing two Volvo sale models. These handmade models are one-offs made most of he time to order. Their scale is 1:8 and they consist mainly out of brass, copper, wood, real leather, .... Laika Vintage has reproduced this time a Volvo ÖV4 and a ÖV4 pickup decorated for the Swedish phone company 'Telegrafverket' as it has been used back in the 1930's. You can purchase one of these models if you are willing to accept the bill which lies between 1500 and 2000 €. Laika Vintage has already built back in 2008 a Volvo ÖV4 Jakob.

The Volvo 264 TE DDR limousine from 1978 by Matrix Scale Models has been delivered this week. The regular release is limited to 408 models and available for 76 - 80 €. Matrix Scale Model has however also produced a special release for the German model store Budig from Berlin. This version consists of the Volvo 264 TE with the figurines of Erich Honecker and his wife Margot. This limited edition of only 100 units is exclusively available at www.modellautos-budig.de for 98 € under item # MX12106-024. This 1:43 scale model is made of resin and features many photo-etched parts. The car as well as the Honecker couple are fixed on a plastic base. The set is protected by a perspex show box. This set has been released two days ago.       Those of you with hawk eyes have certainly noticed that Matrix Scale Models has improved some details and the overall finish of this scale model. It is positive to see that some producers are listening to their customers and take into account their remarks.

Release of the Volvo Collection in Germany :The release of the Volvo Collection in Germany is planned for this September. The collection will be continued if the first models will be successful. It is also very probable that the collection will be available in other German-speaking countries. So stay tuned in for more updates.
