Not yet sure how to transmit your car virus to your youngsters? Well this new release by Volvo might do the trick. Your kidz can drive in a cool miniature of a classy modern ride. Volvo makes it possible and allows you to buy your kidz a replica of Volvo's actual luxurious and top of the line ride. This electric ride-on version of Volvo's new XC90 model is either available in black or white. The interior consists of a nice tan colored ensemble. Even the modern and minimalist dashboard has been faithfully reproduced including wood veneer. And the best of all is the price tag ... it is way more affordable as the real thing. But yeah indeed I have to admit that €555.40 incl tax is not a really a bargain. You can get your mini XC90 in either black or white:

![]() Yesterday Volvo has officially presented the newest generation of the Cross Country declination for their large breaks. I don't get it why you should buy an altered version of a large estate which features elegant lines to end up with a high standing car which seems to wear still some of the plastic body panels usually fitted to the pre-production cars running on public roads. Well my guess is Volvo's marketing department knows what they are doing. A launch of a new Volvo model brings in his train a 1:43 scale counterpart. Official photos of the scale model have not yet been revealed. But Volvo's merchandising department has already released details of the first two versions. The first 1:43 scale model of the Volvo V90 Cross Country will be available in osmium gray metallic (714) and crystal white metallic (707). Each will be offered for €47.60 incl tax. You can order the official Volvo merchandising models @ collection.volvocars.com However I really don't get it why they offer the model in crystal white. Each of the light colors look pretty weird in combination with all the dark plastic body parts for the car. It just doesn't look right to me. Norev has supplied another new scale model to Volvo's own merchandising department. It is a 1:43 diecast model of the actual Volvo V40. The scale model is available in two different paint schemes. The first being denim blue metallic (723) and the second amazon blue (621). First of all these are not the same models released a couple years ago by Motorart. These Volvo V40 are made by Norev with a complete new mold. If you look closely you will see a couple differences. A major one being the panoramic glass roof on this new scale model. Volvo sells each model for €47.60 incl tax. You may find as well a copy at your local Volvo dealer. You can also order any of the official Volvo merchandising models @ collection.volvocars.com
Some people mentioned earlier on FB that they didn't like the color choice of this latest release. Well they might be true and twice blue may sound boring. But if you have a look at the available color options of the real Volvo V40 you will notice that most colors have already been offered on the rest of Volvo's scale models. I think it would be even more boring to have the same color for every single model of Volvo's actual product line. But colors are indeed always a subject. And I guess we could discuss it for hours.
Norev will anyway offer at least two new as well as different colors in their regular product line. Just wait a couple months and check here or your local re-seller with what Norev will come up. The 1:43 scale model of the all-new XC90 seems to be a good seller. Volvo's merchandising department is offering a new color for their luxury SUV. This is the third color for an official Volvo model. This hasn't happened for quite some time. It seems that they do abandon their company policy to offer each model only in two color versions. The latest version is offered in a light to medium grey metallic paint called "osmium grey". This 1:43 diecast model is made by Norev. It is available under Item number 2300597-150-000 for €47.60 inclusive tax. Previous colors offered by Volvo's merchandising department were "onyx black" and "luminous sand". Norev has recently released the XC90 in their regular product line. The first color is 'crystal white metallic' and the second one "twilight bronze". Both are already sold out at Norev. I'm however sure that a couple more colors will follow later this year. You can order the official Volvo merchandising models @ collection.volvocars.com
Volvo has chosen Norev to develop and produce 1:43 scale models of their latest car generation: the Volvo S90 and Volvo V90.Some of you may remember last years when Norev had an embarrassing leak since an employee took a couple models of the just finished Volvo S90. Problem was that Volvo had not yet revealed any photos of their upcoming and most luxurious model. The employee ignored that this specific car was still a top secret. You can read more about this leak on this previous post. Volvo offers each model in two different paint schemes. Volvo sells each of these 1:43 die cast models for €47.60 incl tax. Each model comes packed in a plain white window box. The Volvo logo is printed on each box.

Volvo's merchandising department has announced a new ride-on model for kids. The design for this upcoming push-on model is largely oriented by Volvo's new design language. The front and rear end are showing the design elements of Volvo's new S90. The push-on model is available in two colours. I'm sure the kids will prefer the flashy painted version called "crash test orange". Each of both versions is available for €166.10 incl tax. These models are fitted with working front and rear lights (with a ten-minute delay function) and horn. The first models should be ready and available in August 2016. This is not the first Volvo push-on / ride-on model. Previously offered models were:
Volvo's merchandising department offers the all-new Volvo XC90 now also on their website as 1:18 model. The large scale model of Volvo's big SUV has so far only been available at some Chinese resellers on the net. So it seems to have paid off for those who had more patience and who did not order this scale model when it was released for the first time last year. Volvo offers the smaller version of their XC90 so far only in black in combination with a two-tone beige/brown interior. The diecast model features four opening passenger doors and hood. The scale model is also very detailed. Just have a look at the various stickers in the engine bay. You can get your copy for €138.70 incl tax under item number 2310041-100-000. CSM has released so far two other Volvo scale models in 1:18: Volvo XC60 and S60L These models have so far only been made for the Chinese market. Volvo's merchandising department has announced that they will offer two new models. These models are an minimalist as well as elegant interpretation of Volvo's actual design language. Both models will be made by Playsam. The design of both models is by Drop Innovation, a design company based in Barcelona, Spain. Volvo's merchandising department seems to offer both models only in black. But Playsam will offer both models also in red as well as in white. Volvo will offer each model for €62.70 incl tax. Playsam has not yet revealed their sale tag. Volvo and Playsam also give slightly different lengths for each model. I will try to find out who is right and who isn't.

Polestar has announced yesterday the official release of the Volvo S60 'STCC' in 1:43. The scale model is an exact replica of the Volvo S60 which Thed Björk has driven this season in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship (STCC). This year's STCC ended last weekend. Thed Björke wrote history in the STCC season finale at Knutstorp by becoming the first ever driver to claim three consecutive titles.
You can order your model either at Polestar's official web-shop for €55.40 or at Volvo's official web-shop for €55.35. But don't ask me why there is this tiny price difference. At least the item number 7600042-500-000 is the same at both places. And I guess we will have to wait the first deliveries before we can judge the overall quality of this scale model. The box looks pretty fancy compared to what Volvo used to offer in the past in their merchandising program. |
