Volvo 850 T5 Sussex Police by RPM Models

The British company R.P.M. Models has released back in 1998 a rather well detailed 1:43 Volvo 855 T5 resin kit.The model was available as normal road car but also in several Police versions for the UK. I have already presented the road version here. The following photos will show you the 'Sussex Police' version.
A lot of fine cast metal, white metal, photo-etched parts and details are included within this resin kit. There is no noticeable flash on the resin body and the various detail parts. Excellent clear and crisp decals are supplied for this right-hand drive Police car model. The instructions are rather basic, but then then it's not the most complex kit and it should all make sense. But a few photos of the real car will be very helpful to apply the details and decals to the correct places.

Unfortunately I can't show you a finished model. I have never seen one so far.

Volvo pre-production models by Minichamps

This week a German seller has offered several 1:43 pre-production models by Minichamps on ebay.de. The batch consisted of 339 different cars and featured among other 14 different Volvo cars. The Volvo models were quite popular and two achieved surprisingly high selling prices. One of these was the 2-toned Amazon and the car with the highest end-price was the red Volvo XC90 who was sold for astonishing 152.00 €.

Most of these pre-production models look quite the same as the later production models.

An exception is however the XC90 who has a red front fender and a black rear fender.

And the two Volvo V70 models feature also slightly different details.

Volvo 760 'Star Car' by Matchbox

I recently found a new packaging variant for the Volvo 760 3'' scale model by Matchbox. This version is composed of a cardboard in the form of a star and the blister holding the model. The copyright on the back of the cardboard says 1990. I suppose that it was distributed around this date and/or later.

Volvo 145 Express by Brio

I have found this wooden Volvo on the www. It seems to be representing a Volvo 145 transfer: I don't think that it could be an ambulance since the model is not featuring one single logo or even a text. The model is made from one single piece of wood. Only the tires and the gallery on the roof are added parts. I'm pretty sure that this model has been produced by BRIO. The approximate scale of this model is 1:50.
