I guess that everybody knows that Matchbox has produced the Volvo 480 ES in the past. But I discovered only recently that the model exists in several slightly different liveries. More obvious are the different packaging variations.
- packed in a matchbox - white with beige interior - 'Volvo' marked in blue on the hood - '480 ES' marked in blue on the side doors - ( sorry but this this one is missing on the photo )

This Volvo P1800 was made in 1996 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of VSA (Volvo Sports America), 1976 being the founding year. This model is a numbered and limited run of 3000 pieces which has been carved in a piece of Georgia marble. On one side of the baseplate you can find the signature 'Rush '96'. It is a 1:48 scale model and it measures :

Yesterday I presented the Volvo 855 T5 from RPM Models and told that they did also Police versions for the United Kingdom. But I forget to mention the various liveries that have been produced. - Volvo 855 T5 Estate 'Hampshire Police' item # VO 02 available as kit or rtr - Volvo 855 T5 Estate 'Sussex Police' item # VO 03 available as kit or rtr Unfortunately I can't show you a finished model. The British company R.P.M. Models has released a few years ago a rather well detailed 1:43 Volvo 855 T5 resin kit. The model was available as normal road car but also in several Police versions for the UK. The kit has a lot of fine cast metal, white metal, photo-etched parts and details. Decals are supplied for the the right-hand drive dashboard and some exterior trim ( rear windows, front spoiler, ... ). My normal kit comes even with some parts which are intended to build the Police versions. But the decals for the Police versions are not included. The price tag of the kit was 45 €. I have tried a few times to contact the company but never got a reply.       This Dutch game-board 'Volvo Grand-Prix' has four Volvo 855 models as game figures. The little cars measures each 30x10x6 mm which means that they are 1:160 scale models. The yellow P1800 from Corgi just serves as reference for size.             Photos used with permission.
