Volvo PV544 by Schuco Piccolo

What we have here are two different green shades of this Volvo PV544. Schuco offered this model between 1957 and 1969. The models were offered under their product range called 'Piccolo'. These models were made out of metal and were available in different colours. The scale of this Volvo PV544 is 1:90. Schuco's item number for the Volvo PV544 was 718.

Schuco has restarted producing the Volvo PV544 as 'Piccolo' version back in 2001. They have released it so far in six new liveries and every time in small production batches of only 500, 1000, 2500 or 4000 units.

You can admire both of the green painted models : the first row shows you the model in a nice fresh light green and the second run of photos shows you one in dark green. I had so far just one green model listed in my database. I will correct this.

I have recently discovered this tinplate Volvo PV544. This one does even come with the original box which features a colorful printed cover. It is a rare fin ti see a mint car still in the original box. This Volvo PV544 has been made in Japan back in the late 1950's. The model is 13cm long.
I wasn't able to find more detailed infos about this scale model. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any knowledge regarding this Volvo model.
