NEW OLD MODELS FOUND |
The tag says it all. It's all about older models which I have discovered only recently. |
I have only recently added a Volvo Amazon by Lucky Toys on this page. But here we are back with a color variation that I never saw before. This one is cream white and comes with two antennas and a roof rack. This model is missing unfortunately one antenna and the front bumper.

There have been many Volvo 760 scale models produced in 3-inch scale. The company M.C.Toy did a kind of hybrid version.
Hybrid because the body was made of metal and the bottom-plate was made of plastic. A rather unusual combination. The model came packed in a blister on a cardboard. What makes this one more interesting is the fact that the back of the cardboard could be used as one piece of track for a whole race circuit. The Japanese company Marusan has produced in the past various Volvo H0 slotcar models. In the USA and Japan slotcars in 1:64 scale are referred as H0 scale. This often confuses people in Europe. The ones I was able to find are : Volvo PV544 - colors: blue, turquoise Both models have been sold for ± 900 € ( 1100 $ ) Marusan is one of the very few old Japanese companies that still exist today.
I found today a packaging variation of a Volvo 480 Turbo by Pilen. Everybody knows that AHC-Pilen did a lot of color schemes and packaging versions of the Volvo 480 ES and Volvo 480 Turbo. I found this red Volvo 480 Turbo in a box which was most certainly destined for the Spanish market. The series is called 'Serie Oro Luxe' and the item number is 378. The silver gray Volvo 480 ES ( item number 377 ) on the right photo has been listed for some time in my database.
The Volvo TP21 by ESDO is in fact not a real new old model.
But since it is the first time that I was able to find and see one as an unbuilt kit I presume that not many have seen it either. The resin kit is very clean and fits together perfectly. The kit comes with a lot of white metal and photo-etched detail parts. |
