Volvo PV60 by Rob Eddie

The same Swiss Volvo fan and Rob Eddie scale model collector has send me also the pics of this model. It is a Volvo PV60 from 1950. Rob Eddie once released a nearly identical model back in 1994 for Volvo Sweden in a limited edition of 500 units (item # RE 5z). That model represented however a Swedish Police (Polis) car. The model I show you today looks very much the same but is fitted with a roof-rack and an additional beam above the windshield. The sister of the Swiss Volvo fan bought this model directly from Rob Eddie in his shop in Sweden back in 1995 or 1996. It seems that Rob Eddie intended back then to offer this model in a small batch. Does anyone know if this specific model in light blue with the roof-rack and the additional roof light has been offered as regular release?Volvo PV60 'Polis'

As far as I know this model has been made in a limited edition of 150 pcs.

Can you tell us when and where you bought your model?

Was is directly from Rob Eddie or trough a regular hobby store?

Do you still have he original box and when yes can you send m a couple of photos?

What is written on the original box?

Hallo aus Wuppertal,diese Modelle wurden auf Wunsch von Eddie und dem Importeur Peter Mulder umgerüstet, da die originalen hellblauen Polizeimodelle sich nur schlecht verkauften. So fertigte Brooklin speziell für diese Modelle den Dachgepäckträger an und die Stoßstangen wurden gegen die neutralen des normalen PV60 ausgetauscht. Die Weißwandreifen gaben den Modellen den letzten Pfiff und schon verkauften sie sich wie geschnitten Brot. Ich selbst habe in meinem Shop mindestens 30 Stück davon verkauft. Also eine halboffizielle RobEddie-Ausgabe mit Billigung von Brooklin. Aber es gibt keine offizielle neue Nummer dafür. Gruß Max

Vielen Dank für deine ausführliche Auskunft. Da erkannt man nur zu gut den Spezialisten.
Ich werde deine Antwort auf Englisch übersetzen damit die übrigen Volvo-Sammler die minivolvo verfolgen ebenfalls alles mitbekommen.

This is the English translation of the post by Volvomax:

“Hello from Wuppertal.
These models were converted at the request of Rob Eddie and the importer Peter Mulder. The reason was that the original light blue police models sold poorly.
Brooklin manufactured specifically for these models a roof rack and they replaced the original bumper of the Volvo PV60 with a new specific one. The new added whitewall tires gave those models an even better look and suddenly they were selling like hot cakes. I sold at least 30 models in my store.
It can be seen as a semi-official Robeddie model approved by Brooklin. A new official item number was never allocated to this new version of the Volvo PV60.

Hello,

The model whas from my father who died. I do'nt know where the model is bought.
It has a demage,the ligtht is obove the car is not there any more.
I will sell the model on Ebay. Also the other Rob Eddie Models of my father.
