Matchbox has once more released a new livery of the Volvo P1800. this time they choose to do a Rally version which has black rims and a large black number 27 in a white circle on the side doors. The model features also a large black stripe on both sides with numerous small markings. The model is available in the smaller square and in the rectangular blister.  Photo used with permission

The Volvo V60 'VOR' ( Volvo Ocean Race) by Motorart is already in the stores for several weeks but I received mine only a few days ago.The paint is great with just two tiny dust spots. The window frames fit well. My model was however not well assembled. There was a gap between the rear body and the rear bottom spoiler ( see the last picture ). After pulling apart the model to fix the wrong assembly, I saw that the steering wheel is much to low by even touching the seat. And one of the side mirrors is also not correctly mounted. It has also a lot of tiny light round spots on the bottom. These are in the end not big issues. But since the price tag goes up steadily, the quality should also improve. Biante has announced the 1996 Volvo 854 # 5 which Peter Brook drove in the ATCC. The 1:18 car is based on the scale model from Autoart. The item # is A89694.
Arena Modelli has released in their September news the third livery of their Volvo 142 Rally model. The new kit is decorated for the 1974 RAC rally. The car was driven by Per-Inge Walfridsson (S) and John Jensen (GB). This is a very very detailed resin kit with a lot of photo etched detail parts and excellent decals. Arena Modelli sells these kits for € 65 but you can also order built-up ones for 160-180 €. This model is available under item # ARE587.  Source: arenamodelli.com
The 1971 US-version of the Volvo 145 which Neo Scale Models announced already in May will be available in the shops in the next days. This model reflects the export version for the US market which featured larger bumpers to fulfill the new 'passenger car bumper standard' from the NHTSA. A few details are missing for having a correct US-version. The model comes painted in dark green. The Australian based company Biante has announced a new livery for the Volvo 242 Turbo in 1:18 scale.
The model car is based on the one from Autoart. It seems that Biante and Autoart have strong connections. They choose to do the Volvo 242 # 55 driven by Robbie Francevic and John Bowe in 1985 at the James Hardie 1000 Bathurst race. The product number is A88593. |
