NEW RELEASES |
You will be able to find here news about the latest Volvo scale models which have been announced or just been released. |
Oxford Diecast goes on and on with their new model offensive. A new Volvo model as well as new color versions have been announced. The latest and newest form is a 1:76 replica of the Volvo PV544. Only a couple of the announced models back from 2016 have recently been released. Further paint schemes for the Volvo Amazon 4-door (1967), Volvo P1800 (1967), Volvo 245 DL Estate (1975) as well as Volvo 760 have been announced. I have listed all the versions - released as well as announced - in this post so that each of you can have an overview of all of their Volvo models in 1:76 scale. I'm pretty sure that further versions and models will be developed and offered in a near future. The upcoming Toy Fair in Nürnberg (DE) may provide us with further info's. I'm confident that Oxford Diecast will release even more models and liveries since most of their models are offered in both scales scales 1:43 and 1:76. The Volvo 760 has so far only been revealed as a drawing. This shows however quite an awkward design from the C-pillar on to the very end of the trunk. I guess we will have to wait and see if the final model will be correct or not. And as already mentioned in my previous posts I think it is also worth mentioning that the scale models are RHD (right hand drive ) versions. 1:76 Oxford Automobile

Oxford Diecast goes on with their new model offensive. A bunch of new Volvo models as well as new liveries have been announced. Oxford Diecast will release as so often each model in both scales 1:43 as well as 1:76. The very new developments include models of the Volvo 760. And there will be further versions of the already announced and partially delivered Volvo Amazon's, P1800's and 245 estates. The Volvo 760 has so far only been revealed as a drawing. This shows however quite an awkward design from the C-pillar on to the very end of the trunk. I guess we will have to wait and see if the final model will be correct or not. I think it is also worth mentioning that the 1:43 scale models are RHD (right hand drive ) versions. 1:76 Oxford Automobile 1:76 Oxford Gift 1:43 Oxford Automobile Sources:
Oxford Diecast has released the 1:43 scale Volvo Amazon which has been announced last year. The first release of the 4-door Amazon is painted light green and features a green interior. The model is available for £ 22.95 (± € 29.50) under item number VA001.
Many will say: why another Volvo Amazon? Is there not yet enough choice on the market? Well not if you're looking for a RHD (right hand drive) version. And this is where the British company Oxford Diecast steps in. Volvo sold their Amazon model in many countries where right hand drive is/was a standard. And correct scale models for RHD models are not that common. There are still a few tiny things which I think are wort mentioning:
Model description - quote from Oxford Diecast website:
The Volvo Amazon, designed in real life by Jan Wilsgaard as a large family car with a production life spanning from 1956 – 1970. The Amazon also appeared as a 2-door coupe?, 4-door saloon and a 5-door estate car, with a total production quantity of over 650,000, of which over 234,000 comprised the Amazon 4-door saloon version, the subject of our Oxford replica.

The British company Oxford Diecast has announced a new batch of Volvo models. The first announced model - a Volvo 245 estate - has not yet been released but Oxford Diecast is already expanding the number of Volvo models. A new color for the Volvo Amazon 4-door has been announced as well. And the latest surprise being a newly developed model of the Volvo P1800. All these Volvo's will be released as diecast models. I presume all of 'em will be offered in the long term in both scales which are 1:43 and 1:76. I have to admit that Im not really happy with their color choices. It's kinda very reddish. But that is of course always a very personal thing. A precise release date has not yet been given but that gives you plenty of time saving enough money.
So far announced Volvo models by Oxford Diecast:

The British company Oxford Diecast has just announced the release of two new Volvo Amazon 4-door models. Yeah indeed not one but two new Amazon's. Oxford Diecast will in fact offer the new tooled diecast model in two different scales which are 1:43 and 1:76. But hey that's another good news. Their models are not very pricey and the overall quality is normally pretty fine.
And now the bad news:

Nürnberg welcomes each year the world’s biggest toy fair. Other well known toy fairs are held in New York (US), Chicago (US), Hong-Kong (CN) & Shanghai (CN). The usual manufacturers which are already known to produce Volvo models have once again showed some news. I guess teh most awaited model will be the Volvo S60 STCC as well as the Volvo V60 Polestar. Motorart presented a couple of pre-preduction models of these two models. The Australian label Apex Replicas had announced the STCC version of the S60 already last year. see here Here are all the news I was told about in alphabetical order : BoS-Models This 1:18 scale Volvo PV445 Duett is for sure another great surprise and I bet many will be glad to add this model one day to their showcase. 1:18
Kalee electric ride one
This electric ride on is not a newly produced and/or announced model. I have presented this model back in 2012 click here. Minichamps Minichamps has a rather nice surprise by announcing a classic Volvo in 1:18 : the Volvo 240 GL. Minichamps will produce beside this newly tooled model a few longtime known 1:43 models in new colors. But what about release dates? How long are we already waiting for the fourth color of the Volvo P1800ES in 1:18? Way too many years in my eyes. 1:18
1:43
You can read Minichamps complete news-list by clicking here. Motorart Motorart has not completely stopped to offer Volvo cars. They have announced the Volvo V60 Polestar as well as the Volvo S60 STCC in various versions. The photos do show so far only pre-production models! 1:10
Neo Scale Models Neo Scale Models has presented only the Volvo 145 Polis which has already been manufactured and delivered to shops. But this doesn't mean anything. Their new company policy to announce models only when they are nearly finished and ready to be shipped to retailers and shops. 1:43
Norev Norev has presented three known models in new colors. It's quite a shame that their communication is very poor. 1:43
Oxford Diecast The British company Oxford Diecast has presented their first Volvo scale car. They have already a small number of modern Volvo trucks in their program. The first Volvo car they will offer is the classic 1st generation Volvo 245 estate. The model will be available in the very British scale of 1:76 which railroad modelers often call OO Gauge. The first color will be green. It might be in stock between April 2015 & June 2015. More color schemes will follow at a later date. 1:76 / OO Gauge
Premium-X Models / Ixo / PCT Collectibles The label Premium-X continues with presenting photos of already announced Volvo models. There are however a few new models in between those : Volvo S80 in dark green metallic, Volvo 440 in silver metallic, Volvo 740 'Polis Stockholm' (S) and a red Volvo 855R. There will be certainly more news since they will offer every Volvo which will be offered in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas in new colors and/or liveries. Ixo is in fact producing all the models for the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas. 1:43
