Matrix Scale Models has just published the first pictures of the upcoming Volvo 264 TE 'DDR' stretched limousine. The shortcut TE stands for Top Executive. It was initially scheduled to be released in the third quarter but it seems that it will now be available in the second quarter of 2013. The model will be available under item # MX12106-023 for around 80 €. It seems that it will be a limited edition of only 312 units. The proportions of the cars looks really good and the model represents well the limousine from the first batch. I do ignore if the model on the photos below will be released as such or if it is still a pre-production model. I have however discovered several tiny errors : - the dark blue painted cars had a dark blue upholstery and never a black one - the chrome around the side windows seems less shiny than the rest of the chromed trim - the chrome of the door handles seems less shiny than the rest of the chromed trim - the flags are a little bit to high ( the pole is too long ) - the flags are not located on the correct place : they were situated more on the outer side of the headlights - the model features optional front fog lamps under the front bumper ( I do ignore if many featured this option )    Source & copyright : matrixscalemodels.com

The Volvo PV544 from the collection named 'Fantastic car and vehicles of Blake et Mortimer' has been released two days ago. The car appeared in the episode 'The Sarcophagi of the Sixth Continent'. The model is N° 58 in this series which started as a test back in 2010. The collection is giving an overview of the various mythical engines from the Blake and Mortimer cartoons. Every model comes with a booklet tracing back their history. The scale models are all made of diecast and ABS and each model comes with some kind of figures made out of PVC.
