Volvo XC90 by CSM for Volvo

Volvo's merchandising department offers the all-new Volvo XC90 now also on their website as 1:18 model. The large scale model of Volvo's big SUV has so far only been available at some Chinese resellers on the net. So it seems to have paid off for those who had more patience and who did not order this scale model when it was released for the first time last year. Volvo offers the smaller version of their XC90 so far only in black in combination with a two-tone beige/brown interior. The diecast model features four opening passenger doors and hood. The scale model is also very detailed. Just have a look at the various stickers in the engine bay.
You can get your copy for €138.70 incl tax under item number 2310041-100-000.

These models have so far only been made for the Chinese market.

The Chinese company CSM is not only offering a 1:18 scale model of the Volvo S60L. A model of the 2015 version of the Volvo X60 T6 is also in CSM's product spectrum. They offer the actual XC60 in two different colors :

rich java metallic with black interior
crystal white pearl with black interior

Both versions feature numerous working parts and functions:

the four doors, hood and trunk can be opened
both side mirrors can be folded
the inner layer of the sunroof can be slide forward and back, and the outer layer can be raised
the steering of the two front wheels and the steering wheel can be actuated in one control
both front seats can be moved forward and back
the front and rear wheels have working shock absorbers
a detailed engine is fitted in under the hood

These scale models are made out of diecast and feature rubber tires. They are at this date produced exclusively for the Chinese market. The models are available on various online sites between 90 and 130$ a piece. Shipping costs vary also largely depending on the vendor. You may find a copy on one of the usual online auctions sites or @ aliexpress.com.

I'm finally able to present you a couple more photos of the Volvo S60L scale model which I have already presented November 2014 (see here).

The Volvo S60L is a stretched version of the regular S60. This car is still pretty unknown here in Europe. This model is manufactured in China for the Chinese market. And it will probably be exported to the US market in 2015. The new S60L will replace the S80 in the future.

The Chinese company CSM offers this new Volvo model in 1:18 in two different colors :

seashell metallic - item # 9430836
crystal white pearl - item # 9430831

Both versions feature a nicely done two-tone interior as well as some working parts. This scale model is however only available in China. You may find a copy on one of the usual online auctions sites.

Functions:

Photos of a new scale model of the Volvo S60L have shown up on the www. The Volvo S60L is a stretched version of the regular S60. This car is rather unknown here in Europe. This model is manufactured in China for the Chinese market. And it will probably be exported to the US market in 2015. The S60L seems to replace the S80 in the future.

I can't tell you however much about the scale model. All I know is that it is made out of plastic and that it has some moving and opening parts : hood, four doors & trunk. The model features a nicely done two-tone interior. The 1:18 scale model is packed in a plain white window box - well with a small window. This scale model is only available in China.
Any kind of info is warmly welcome.

The Volvo S60L - some facts:

The Volvo S60L is a China-only stretched variant of the Volvo S60. The model is extended by 8 centimeter in the middle to create more legroom for passengers in the back.

The new Volvo S60L had been launched on the China car market on December 13, 2013. It was one of the most anticipated new-car launches in China of that year. Price starts at 269.600 yuan and ends at 348.900 yuan.

The S60L is powered by a 200hp 2.0 turbo (2.0T), a 241hp

2.0 turbo (T5), or a 300hp 3.0 turbo (T6).

The S60L competes with other China-made China-only stretched sedans such as the Audi A4L, the BMW 3Li, and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class L, none of which offers a hybrid, giving Volvo an unique selling point in a hard battled market.

The S60L is manufactured in a new Geely-funded Volvo factory in Chengdu in central China.
