Neo Scale Model has recently released its fifth Volvo 242 Turbo model. The latest one is the car prepared by Eggenberger Motorsport for the 1985 ETCC season. The Volvo wearing the number 2 was driven by Gianfranco Brancatelli (I) and Thomas Lindström (S). Siegfried Müller Jr. (D) was the third driver during the 24h of Spa Francorchamps.

Neo Scale Models has announced a fourth color for the longtime announced but not yet released Volvo 780. The 1:87 scale model has been announced for the first time back in 2011. Well we might find one this year under the X-mas tree.
The Volvo 780 in beige metallic will be a special color release for minicar87 which is the H0-scale branch of Modelcarworld.

The Volvo P1900 has finally been released. The start makes the already announced blue model. And Modelcarworld offers the very same moment a special limited edition of only 300 units in red with a red interior. The models are offered for 54.95 € on the web. I wrote initially that their price would be 60.95 €. The windshield which has received some criticism on the first released photos showing a pre-production model has been changed. It is no longer a part of the resin body but a separate photo-etched part. This modification has largely improved the visual aspect of this scale model.
Two more color variants will follow at a later date.

Modelcarworld.de has a Volvo Amazon Coune convertible listed as new future release by Neo Scale Models. So far two different versions seem to be released. I presume that there will be a white one with a black interior and a gray convertible with a red interior.

Neo Scale Model has released its third Volvo 242 Turbo model. The latest is an exclusive model for the German web-shop Modelcarworld.de and is limited to 300 units and available under item # 174805 for 59.95 € plus S&H. The silver car wears the number 20 and comes in the colors of the German team Kissling Motorsport. The car was driven in the 1985 DTM season by Heinz-Friedrich Peil. This was in fact a private car with no support from Volvo : Peil built up the car and Kissling Motorsport did the engine tuning. They used however the 4-door version because it was too difficult to get the 2-door shell. This was the only Volvo 240 4-door used as a race car.
     
The first Volvo models in H0 scale by Neo Scale Models have appeared yesterday on Model Car World's website. Not only seven but eight different models are offered. Neo Scale Models has produced once again a model in an exclusive paint for the web-store Model Car World. It is in this case a black over blue metallic Volvo 262 Bertone which is offered in a limited run of 500 units. And the light blue metallic Volvo 244 DL is also offered as a limited edition of 500 models for Model Car World. This color was announced from the beginning but it was never mentioned that it will be a limited an exclusive model. The officially announced price in Europe is 28.90 € per model. The Volvo 244 DL is offered in four different colors typical of the 1970's. The big black bumpers seem well represented. But the overall look of the model is in my eyes not convincing. The main issue seems to be the front which looks quite strange. I guess that it is due to the way the scale model has been designed.
    The Volvo 262 Bertone represents a model from the last run. Not every detail is 100% correct and the proposed colors where not all available for that model-year. The overall impression is my eyes once again not very convincing.
