These Volvo PV544 which had been extensively modified to handle the extreme rally-cross races were driven by the Swedes Roland 'Grus-Kalle' Brändströms and Thomas Radström. Each version sells for officially for 595 SEK (± 63 € / ± 69 $). The three versions are now available at the website grus-kalle.se. This website is run by the oldest son of Roland "Grus-Kalle" Brändströms.

Premium-X has released a rtr model of the Volvo P1800 ES 'Rocket'. This Volvo concept car is available as 1:43 scale model. It is made out of resin and not diecast. Premium-X offers the scale model for 49.95 € under item number PR0494R.
The Italian coach builder Carozzerria Pietro Frua designed and built this prototype back in 1968. This shooting brake prototype was nicknamed the 'Rocket' because of its shape. It was built from a coupe taken from the production line and sent to Frua in Italy for this prototype to be built. The original car was white then repainted gold by Frua. It has been resprayed metallic blue and can be seen today in the Volvo Museum in Göteborg (Sweden). The prototype was listed as project P183. Volvo declined the Rocket for production because it was 'too radical'. This scale model will not be part of the Volvo Collection by Editions. My guess is however that Premium-X will release this model also in another color since the first two models were painted white and gold.

Premium-X Models has released last week four new 1:43 scale models. These four models are:
The official retail price for all these diecast models is € 32.95. All the models are made by Ixo in China. Premium-X Models was smart this time and is offering us not only a Volvo 145 Express in plain blue but they choose also to offer the 145 Express in the livery of a Dutch ambulance. That is in my eyes a very good idea. The Volvo 66 is offered in the well known color combo consisting of the car painted in yellow and featuring a large black stripe on both sides. Premium-X Models choose to model the Volvo 66 from 1975 in the GL version. And the fourth end last new release is the Volvo 780 Bertone. This luxurious ride from the 1980's comes in the attractive combination of blue pearl metallic (paint code 407) with a beige interior (code 2950). The Volvo 780 Bertone features also a closed glass sunroof. The Volvo 780 became available in Europe in 1986 and in United States a year later. The 780 was designed and built by Carrozzeria Bertone in Turin, Italy. 8,518 cars were built between 1986 and 1991. Premium-X Models will release even more new models in tee coming weeks.  Premium-X has published a catalog showing some of the upcoming models for 2014. Photos of the Volvo P1900, Volvo 145 Express, Volvo 66 and Volvo 262C Bertone are printed on page sixteen. Premium-X will release the Volvo 262C Bertone in black over silver metallic. The 1:43 scale diecast model will feature a beige interior. The official retail price of 30.99 € will probably remain the same. You can preorder all these models at your local dealer.

Ixo has announced another batch of their 1:43 scale models which will be offered under the label Premium-X. These models are all those who have already been released in the Volvo Collection by Edition Atlas. They will however be offered in new colors. The official retail price will be 30.99 € for any of these diecast models. They should be available in the second quarter of 2014.

The Dutch retailer The Diecast CompanY has announced a batch of Volvo models by IXO in new and exclusive colors. Each 1:43 scale model will be offered as a limited edition. Every model will be packed in a special gray/black Triple 9 window box. I resume in the following table the so far announced models because some infos have changed since I first wrote about these models.
The models who have already been announced were then limited to 504 units. The Diecast CompanY writes now that each run will consist of 600 pieces. I guess it might change one more time.
The first release dates have not been respected. All the models are now announced to become available in the second quarter of 2014. This is however without any guarantee. This is in fact a logical consequence since Ixo / Premium-X is allowed to offer the models which they are producing for Editions Atlas' Volvo Collection. Ixo has to respect however two restrictions : they have to wait at least six months after a model has appeared for the first time in the Volvo Collection and they must offer the model in a different color.
