Upcoming models :

Some very friendly people from Editions Atlas informed me about the upcoming models in the Volvo Collection. Some of these news are without a doubt a real surprise and will make the collection even more attractive. Many have never been done before as a scale model. And I'm sure that a few more scoops will appear. The exact release order is not yet known.
  • Volvo P1800 ES Prince Carl Gustav
  • Volvo 244 Blue Star 1978
  • Volvo 480 Turbo - prototype USA
  • Volvo 440 Politie ( Police NL )
  • Volvo V40 ( 2001 )

Release of the Volvo Collection in Germany :

The release of the Volvo Collection in Germany is planned for this September. The collection will be continued if the first models will be successful. It is also very probable that the collection will be available in other German-speaking countries. So stay tuned in for more updates.

Great news!! I really love the fact that the Atlas people actually check this site and really consider all the suggestions made by people here.

Hugely looking forward to all the models. Going to the postoffice this afternoon to pick up the next installment (I wasnt home at time of delivery) and everytime it's just a big surprise which model it will be. Love it!

I like to see, that is always a good surprise ;-)

If somebody have some documentations about the details of the Blue Star, it would help us to make a model as precise as possible.

We at Volvo-forum.nl would have some nice suggestions for future models.

Hi Michelle and Mr. Atlas.

Listening to the client has always been the best road to success so I'm happy that we, the fans, can give you suggestions for the contiued Volvo series.
In Volvo-forum.nl is a list building up with all kinds of models that are wanted. I'll copy that list later here.

In the mean time I have a suggestion that should be executed without much problems.
Edition Atlas has a very nice bus collection.
I would like you to consider to add the VOLVO busses to the Volvo collection. I didn't subsribe to that series because I'm interested in Volvo only.

Hello Mr Atlas

I am from Sweden and a collector of Your range of models in the "Volvo Collection". I Think that You guys have done a great job with these new models that the market have not seen before. I am particualary thinking of the old Volvo models. But as a collector from Sweden I love to see a big range of Swedish police car based on the Volvo models. I know that many collectors in Sweden would love to se that!

Best regards/Lars

Hello Mr Atlas!

One thing I and I think many collectors of your great Volvo Collection would like to see is a screwdriver send as an extra. The models are great on the black base, but many of us would like to have them on display without. With the used screws, it is almost impossible to 'unscrew' them now.

Some suggestions for new models:
- 1929 PV4
- 1930 PV651
- 1933 PV654
- 1933 Venus Bilo Concept
- 1978 245
- 1992 460 GLE
- 1995 850 T-5 R (Yellow)

Best regards
/Guido

Thanks You a lot for Your suggestions...
Some of them are already in development :-)

And we will seriously consider some other suggestions.

The screw is a real problem... we know that, it's a legal condition in some countries... i'll explain that better soon.
I'm also a collector, and prefer to put some of my models without display, trust me, I really understand.

Some Police cars are also coming, and not only Swedish ones.

Please continue to write Your comments and suggestions, it's very helpful.

Hello, Mr. Atlas. I wonder why there are so many red, blue and black cars in the Collection? And som many dubbletts of same car? I have a suggestion of a Grey Volvo 142 GT/sport 1971 or Volvo 940 Turbo 1997.

Have a nice day

Dear S. Martin,

Youre suggestions are well noted, thanks.

By dubbletts, do You mean models already existing in 1/43 scale ?

This collection is thought as a global collection, so it has to be relevant of all the Volvo production and as we try do bring a majority of models which doesn't already existing, we can't forget some relevant ones, even if they where already on the market.

Our customers are mainly new collectors and they are happy to receive those models, generaly those dubbletts of other scale models producer are sold out since a long time or "old fashion made", really expensive or hard to find in some countries.

The colour choice is always a big negociation with the specialists, technical realisation, each person involved taste, and at least the Volvo Marketing department who validate each model.

I hope that answers a little bit to Your questions.

Have a nice week-end !

S.Martin

Hi mr Atlas, Thanks for your reply . With dubbletts I mean like the Volvo Duett 445 and now the P1800ES Prinz Carl Gustav and Volvo 440 Police .

Have a nice weekend to you too :)

Sorry my english

Mr. Atlas link
6/14/2013 04:45:35 am

Ok, I understand, we had a lot of demands for the Police cars, it's why You will find some in the future.

For the Duett, it was a big thing. A P210 was planned, but the factory choose the wrong one to make the moulds... so it's not a dubblett, it's a new mould.. of a car we already had in the collection.
When we received the first sample it was too late to correct this, it's why we found this nice Volvo decoration to make this model really attractive for the collection.

For the P1800 ES it also was a particular demand, and I really understand Your opinion, it will be the only real dubblett in all the collection, don't worry.
When we use an existing model it should be an other mileage with new accessories or with a real interest as the Police cars.

And You will understand that using some existing tools also help us to keep our low prices compare of the high quality of this collection and to continue to invest in interesting new tools as the 244 or the V40 for example.

My english is not the best one eather ;-)

And Michelle already knows the answer since I wrote her from Trollhättan a month ago ;-)

A Saab collection is planned for the begining of 2014 in Scandinavia.
I'm really happy to announce that, personnaly I'm a Saab driver (I also own a Volvo).

Hi Mr. Atlas

Thank you for opening up so much.
The people in Holland don't know very much about the products. They usually know what's on their computer and that is the same we see when we look at our account ;-)
It nice to see that you are willing to inform us that much.
SAAB will be nice for Holland also. There are many SAABfans.

Hello
I want a PV444 in the right colour for example the year the car will be made for.
Now the 544 is very wrong colour this metallic red was made for 444 of 1953 -1954, the 544 has never metallic colour.
I wish 1957 444 the last year whith the split windscreen but this car has the new grill colours of this year 1957:
black on standardmodel,
for the specialmodel (de luxe): californawhite, goldenbeige, pearlgrey, red, rivierablue, darkgreen, midnightblue.
I wish the Atlas make the cars in right colour from the beginning even the Carioca has wrong colour this is lightbrown on the model, but the reel car has a dark redbrown colour.
I love this Volvo-serie but it could be better whith better info Before produktion.

Hello again
Even the felgen on Volvo Amazon 220 combi is wrong colour on the model, all Volvo´s range this period was the felgen silver like Atlas P1800 they are correct.
If Atlas will change now so take the felgen from P1800 there is even the centrum hub of the right type..

Hi

I'm a collector of this very good volvo serie.
I would like to have the old military volvo cars built around -75.
-c303 4wd
-c306 6wd (ambulance version 1314 would be cool)

At least in the nordics i think these would be very popular.

Mr.Atlas
1. many many thanks for a very nice Volvo Collection, I love your
models from -30 -40 and -50th, Atlas make this models alone from
other manufacturers Thanks Atlas! but
2. When we place the models beside after the year there are 4 models in black WHY??
It is PV56 1939 BLACK, PV60 1946 BLACK , PV444 1947 BLACK, PV 802 1952 BLACK, it is only one of them must be black it is PV444,
PV56 can be beige, light green, light or dark blue, maroon, black,
PV60 can be light and dark blue, maroon and light ice-blue,
PV444 black, it´s only one must be in black
PV 802 black or dark blue.
If the manufacturer looks for the different originalcolors and mix it to the hole collection when it´s complete , we have a more attractive Collection

Hello, dear Mr IXO !

One of my friends has a very beautiful and luxurious Volvo 90 Royal.
It's coloured dark metal grey with some violet reflection and comes from the year 1998.
Cars like that are not sold very many ever, as far as know, so it is supposed to be quite rare.

A modelcar like that would be absolutely great!
It would turn my friend crazy, too ...

Thank You for the series this far, it's been wonderful.

Is there any system in the release of Volvo models? I'm primarily interested in theVolvos featuring rear wheel drive (a turning circle of less than 10 meters!) I wouldn't like to have too much misfits like the C30 in my collection!

Hello mr.Atlas

Thanks for all nice Volvo-cars in Volvo-Collection. But there are few models missing in the range.
I will give you an example how it´s possible to do four models from two moulds.
They are PV 52 and PV56 the same body from windscreen to the rear, it´s only the trunk as different.
Take the front and hood separately from PV52 and PV56 and we have four models from two moulds.
They are number 1: PV52 without trunk, number 2: PV52 special with trunk. number 3: PV55 without trunk but with nose and hood from PV56 and the PV56 with trunk and hood and nose like the PV56 today.
But it must be two bodys and two seperately hoods and mix it to the type of model we want. Difficult? No I have done it on my models PV52-52special PV55-56
