UPDATED - Volvo 145 Taxi 'Stockholm' by Editions Altaya

Editions Altaya has launched a second Taxi Collection at the end of 2012. There will be once again a Volvo model. They choose this time to offer a Volvo 145 instead of the Volvo 144 from the first run of the Taxi Collection. The Volvo represents once again a cab as it was used in Stockholm, Sweden. The 1:43 scale diecast model is made by Ixo. This model has now been delivered in France. Subscribers in Spain and Portugal have to wait a bit more. An exact release date has not yet been given in these two countries.

The Volvo 145 Break Taxi Stockholm is very much better than the 144 Saloon Taxi Stockholm. The bottom plate however reads "Express Taxi". That is not correct as the Express has a raised roof.
I hope they will make a new and better version of the 144 Stockholm Taxi. They could if they use the same model as the Volvo Collection.

Hej Per,
I guess Ixo used the new mold to do this 145 Taxi. The name on the bottom-plate is certainly not correct but it is the same as the one for the 145.
The retail price might be one of the reason why Ixo is producing the same model in various quality grades. You do see these models with extremely different prices. This goes from as low as 5 € up to 22 €. And Ixo will sell the same model with a lightly improved quality and finish under their own labels for 29-32 €.

I can't find and I don't know the reason why the quality changes from one collection to the other.
Just check the post I did of the Volvo 144 Taxi. You will notice that every collection has different boxes. The price, the quality and the level of details change each time.

The worst thing was when Altaya skipped the lights beside the headligts. It made the early front of the 144 DL look like an owl! On the DeAgostini version of the Taxi du Monde in Greece they used the black front of the 144 GL instead. This version of the 144 taxi looks much better and I have been looking for it since but can not find it.
