Volvo 145 Taxi 'Stockholm' by Editions Altaya

Editions Altaya has launched a second Taxi Collection. There will be once again a Volvo model. They choose this time to offer a Volvo 145 instead of the Volvo 144 from the first run of the Taxi Collection. The Volvo represents once again a cab as it was used in Stockholm, Sweden. The 1:43 scale diecast model is made by Ixo. This model will be available in France, Spain and Portugal. I presume that it will be released at a later date in other countries.

I have only seen these taxis in Gothenburg, but I guess the company could have been represented in Stockholm too. The photon on Internet that I found only show Gothenburg-registered cars (OA = Gothenburg area at the time). The licence plate on this model says CP which never has been used in Sweden, why not a "real" number? By the way, the 144 mentioned is QA-registered, never used in Sweden either, but could be OA misread. Why bother witn licence number if they can't get them right? The model itself looks good I think, except the wheel hubs.
I would like to have it, but it will not be issued in Sweden, we don't have that kind of magazines.

Hi! No problems, Per. You can always find the model on ebay. There is one ex right now. And the registerer-plate can easiliy be switched to a correct A, AA or AB plate. I also find the model very nice! Regards Jonas.

The license plate OA 2002 was used by Volvo for introduction of new models. You will find it on both 144 and 145 taxi models. The CP 3719 license plate on the 145 taxi in the Volvo Collection is from Romerike in Akershus in Norway. I don´t know if Volvo tried to introduce the yellow Volvo in Norway. Perhaps somebody knows?
