Volvo Amazon by Oxford Diecast

The British company Oxford Diecast has just announced the release of two new Volvo Amazon 4-door models. Yeah indeed not one but two new Amazon's. Oxford Diecast will in fact offer the new tooled diecast model in two different scales which are 1:43 and 1:76. But hey that's another good news. Their models are not very pricey and the overall quality is normally pretty fine.
And now the bad news:

a precise release date is not yet given but that gives you plenty of time saving enough money
Oxford Diecast has not yet mentioned a model-year for the upcoming Volvo Amazon and I don't wanna make an educated guess based on the only illustration they have published so far
I was not yet ale to find out which color will have the interior

Dear Minivolvo,
it seem a good news,but I wonder why Oxford don't release a lot of U.K.models that they have in scale 1/64 to 1/43 ! Amazon is ok but in the Market we get a beautiful Minichamps,PremiumX,Ixo,Lansdowne Models.......

Dear Renato,

I guess that is a question which has to be asked directly to Oxford Diecast. Not sure if they will answer you or eve reply at all.
I have not yet received a reply to my emails dating back to February this year.

I'm sure many of the British cars will be offered one day in all of the scales they do offer so far.

Why another Amazon? No idea either. Maybe a right-drive version for the UK market and all the other countries from the Commonwealth.

Indeed the Volvo Amazon has been produced so far by many different companies in different materials, qualities and prices categories. But this seems to be a common problem among toy manufacturers. They prefer to invest in a well-known model which will provide a bigger guarantee to return in investment. It is obvious that the collector would prefer to see the development of a not yet made car. But this issue has been largely discussed in numerous forums and I don't see a trend in a different direction.

And there is also the fact that recent price increases in the last couple of years for licensed products have very much increased. This means that a manufacturer has to think and calculate way more before he decides to invest in making a new model.

But we might blame our beloved car companies too. It is them along with the few big international companies who represent their licensing rights who are contributing greatly to today's fiercely disputed market of scale models.

It's finally up to you if you prefer to buy everything which is offered on the market. You see some guys buy just a model of their dream cars, or of the models they once drove or still are driving. Some prefer to collect models in one precise color or all the scale models of one car type and others try to pick out the best and most accurate scale version of a given car.

What do you want?
Be a smart customer and take the decision which suits your interest in the best possible way.
