Volvo Concept Coupé and Volvo P1800 by Volvo

2013 - Volvo Concept Coupé

An observant Volvo enthusiast from Russia has told me that Volvo's merchandising department is offering two new 1:43 scale models.

The first one is the Volvo Concept Coupé which has been presented by Volvo on August 29, 2013. Volvo describes this car as the next-generation P1800.
The 1:43 scale model is made of resin. It is packed in a stylish and elegant gift box and comes with a display stand. It is already available under item number 2300377-000-000 for €126.80 including VAT.

Volvo P1800

The second new scale model is a replica of the Volvo P1800. It makes sense that Volvo's merchandising department is offering this mode too since they describe the 2013 Volvo Concept Coupé as the next-generation P1800.
The 1:43 scale model is made of resin. It is packed in a stylish and elegant gift box and comes with a display stand. It is already available under item number 2300391-000-000 for €126.80 including VAT.

I do not know which manufacturer has produced these scale models. We will probably have to wait until one of us has received one.

The concept is on its way... but why so expensive? Are onley a few made (500) or is the gift box so big?

When Norev made them (?), is the P1800 the same as former Norev P1800s?

We'll wait. (I didn't order the P1800)

They are not diecast models but they are made out of resin.
I do not know how many models have been or will be produced. But it is for sure that there will be more than 500 pcs. At this moment 411 pcs are in stock and another 320 are expected to arrive in a month. This is at least the info that can be found on their website.
I really do ignore which manufacturer could have done them. The price might be as high if the complete batch will be rather small. Less models in a production run means higher prices for a single model.

We will be able to find out more once your model has arrived.

But one thing seems to be sure : it is not the same Volvo P1800 as thee one offered by Neo Scale Models or by Norev.

Dear all,

They are interesting models.

I think that's Provence Moulage, the "resin" brand of Norev. It would be logical because Volvo is already in business with Norev.

Provence Moulage did some nice other official modelcars for VW, Saab or other brands.

Such chinese production in resin are usualy not more than 1000 pieces, otherwise die-cast is more interesting for more quantities.

The P1800 is a true copy of the car of a member of the "Volvo Club de France", I was contacted through the club, by the project manager himself to find a car. Here is the result!

Yes indeed. You told me earlier this year that a French company was looking to scan the real thing. But we had at that time no clue what was going on or what they were intending to offer us exactly.
It is indeed a nice surprise.

I just got the P1800, it is very successful, much finer and more accurate than the model published by NEO. My model has the number 242/1000
