Volvo P1800 S Volvoville by Editions Atlas

The number thirty-nine in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas is a Volvo P1800 S Volvoville. This convertible is painted in steel-blue metallic which was an original Volvo colour in 1970. It goes very well in combination with the beige interior. The original car was made in 1966 and had chassis number 17787. Editions Atlas is the first company who is releasing a correct diecast model of this rare and sought-after Volvo. The half open tonneau cover allows a free view of the nicely reproduced and very well detailed dashboard.

Some history :
Volvo was interested in offering a P1800 convertible. But Volvo's new and self imposed safety standards from the 1960's stopped this project pretty fast. But the boss of a Volvo dealership from the East cost in the States had the idea to produce himself customized Volvo P1800 convertibles. The name of that Volvo dealership was Volvoville. The P1800 convertibles were therefore simply called Volvo P1800 Volvoville. It is still not sure how many of these convertibles were built.
