Volvo PV444 by WhiteBox

ModelCarWorld has released this week the second Volvo model under their own label WhiteBox. The first was a light blue metallic Volvo 144. The new release is a Volvo PV444. This 1:43 scale model is made in China by IXO. The diecast model of this PV444 is painted dark red which seems to be pretty close to the original Volvo paint called metallic red/wine red (21). The car features a light gray interior. And they put even white wall tires on this car.

This is a limited edition run of 1008 pieces. The model is available for 21.95 € under item number 194601. The car is packed in a white and black cardboard window box.

The same Volvo PV444 has previously been available in various colors and packaging versions as well as under different brands and labels.

The Picture show a Volvo PV444 whith the bumber from A-model 1947.
The red colour is wrong on this model only black, and dovegrey for the deluxe model, but this one have horn on the bumber.

The red metallic colour comes 1953- whith other interior and a new look on the bumbers .

The Picture show a 444 from 1947 in red colour this one have never been made from the volvo factory

Hi Ulf,

It's all about making money and not about making the most accurate replica of a once existing car

It's quite a shame. The only way to show your opinion to the manufacturers is not to buy those models who are in many aspects not correct.

I should maybe point out more often how correct or wrong a certain scale model is. But there are some Volvo models which I don't know so well. This makes is difficult for me to detect and to describe every issue and/or wrong detail.

We can always treat it as a 1947 model
that has recieved a new coat of paint some years later.

My opinion is also that the true definition of a collector is:
CONDITION ONLY MATTERS IF I ALREADY HAVE ONE

Regarding the other WhiteBox models listed above, they were
presented to dealers at the Nurnberg Toy Fair 2014

Hej Martin,

I'm sure that most of us want a correct scale model which is an exact replica of the car as it has been delivered in a certain year by the Volvo factory.

But you're also right with your first comment. Many real cars have been resprayed and/or modified over the years which means that they are no longer 100% original compared to the day when they left the factory.

The customer is the one who will have to take a decision: to buy or not to buy. It's up to you out there.

Thank you also for the info regarding the announced WhiteBox models. Well my spy’s didn't get that info at Nürnberg earlier this year. But that's not a big deal.
